Last night in Los Angeles opened the sublime new show by Jose Parla “Character Gestures” at OHWOW.
Known for his graffiti inspired multi layered pieces with wall like textures, Parla’s new body of work is fluid as ever.
At first glance almost each piece is focused on one color but with a closer look, you start to discover the wonderful Parla layers using many alternative colors.
The “mono-transfers” created by rubbing paper over his wet paintings are truly stunning and the several works on paper displayed are another wonderful part of the show.
This is an amazing show by the master Parla and it’s not to be missed if you are in LA, the show runs until on October 22nd.
