Ron English one of the most prolific billboard and street artists of all time took over the entire ground floor of the Tribeca Grand Hotel in NYC the other night to unveil his new body of work entitled “EVOLUTIONARY ALTERNATIVES”.

To celebrate the opening patrons had first crack at purchasing a 5″ hand painted and signed edition of 100, “Dinogrenades” (I forgot to grab one so let’s hope there will be an online sale of any leftovers).

As usual Ron’s work was a mix of beauty, humor, wit, and social commentary.  The large dimly lit corridors of the Tribeca Grand Hotel was the perfect place to showcase the bright if not neon camouflage animals featured in paintings and as giant almost life like statues (but made taking photos a huge pain!).
But as amazing as these canvases looked in person, everyone wanted a photo with the camouflage deers ; )
I only caught the tail end of the opening but I had the pleasure of running into some of NYC’s greatest including Buff Monster, Logan Hicks, Beau Stanton, & Morgan Spurlock…

A truly great time was had by all.  If you have a chance to stop by the Tirbeca Grand it’s worth the $16 glass of wine to see a legend’s work in person.
