As part of the American Psycho group exhibition, Volery Gallery is pleased to announce the sale of CARLITO original Lona Misa, oil on canvas painting for 99₵. Better known by his stage name Cro, the artist is a multiple platinum rewarded producer, songwriter and performing artist. One buyer will win the painting for 99₵ only through a raffle. The results will be announced on the gallery’s social media on 21 November 2021.
The painting portrays a female figure in a relaxed posture against a purple sky while the wind blows through her hair. Framed in a unique white frame, the painting appears as if it is a vintage mail stamp that belongs on museums walls.
CARLITO, better known by his stage name Cro is a multiple platinum rewarded producer, songwriter and performing artist with German-Italian roots. For more than 10 years in the game as a musician to his audience Cro remains a phantom covering his face with a mask, not revealing his real identity. Superstar incognito. Next to his success as one of the best selling and most streamed European musician he ever since embraced visual arts by crafting sculptures, paintings and Interior pieces, designing various fashion collections and backdrops and light choreographies for music festival stages – to name a few of his activities. Above that his passion lies in analog photo- and videography. Throughout his career he found and ran his own fashion label, directed and edited various music videos, worked with numerous internationally well known artists such as Wyclef Jean or Jerry Wonder and collaborated with brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Colors Berlin or Highsnobiety just to name a few. Recently he released his first NFT collection bridging the gap of his digital footprint but analog artistic mindset.
Carlito describes his art as contemporary but eclectic. “Creating art has a lot of similarities to the creation of music, it’s a reflection of your feelings, an expression of your inner self nevertheless it talks to people or touches them in a slightly different way. It‘s a flow state of creation. I am addicted to the process, not the result.”
After showing his work at his first art exhibition at the Circle Culture Gallery for the first time to a wider audience in 2017 in Berlin the multi disciplinary artist is now getting ready to reveal more of the art he created over the past years to the public.
