Brooklyn based artist Gilf! was recently in Miami where she completed this mural curated by the Adjust Gallery. The piece is one block north of Wynwood Walls on NW 2nd street.
The work, entitled “RIP Reefa” is an optical art piece memorializing the young graffiti artist who was tased to death by the Miami Police. Rather than demonizing the actual officers who committed the act Gilf! chooses instead to offer guidance to the people of Miami and especially their police force.
The message “Be Love Officers” resonates with the locals, the art community, as well as with the rest of mankind.
