Tristan Eaton returns with a powerful new solo exhibition titled Lately, opening November 15, 2025, at CASS Contemporary in Nashville. The show marks the artist’s first-ever solo presentation in the city and features an entirely new series of works on wood and paper.
Known for his bold, multilayered compositions that merge fine art, graffiti, and pop culture, Eaton continues to push the limits of contemporary painting. Lately dives deep into the emotional complexity of modern life, using humor, symbolism, and spray paint to explore themes of love, loss, and mortality.
“This is a collection of very personal paintings showcasing the duality of the human experience,” says Eaton. “Mostly featured as diptychs, these works use gallows humor and spray paint to explore the impact of love, loss, and death on our daily lives.”
From his beginnings as a teenage graffiti writer to collaborations with brands like Nike, Hublot, and SpaceX, Eaton has become one of the most influential figures in the global street art movement. His murals can be seen in cities such as Paris, New York, and Shanghai, celebrated for their dynamic visuals and cultural resonance.
Eaton’s work is held in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. His 25-year retrospective at the Long Beach Museum of Art cemented his status as a pioneer bridging fine art and pop culture.
“We’ve followed Tristan’s career and been close friends for years,” says Cassie Greatens of CASS Contemporary. “We’re incredibly proud to bring his latest body of work to Nashville. His ability to balance raw energy with thoughtful storytelling makes this exhibit especially powerful.”
Tristan Eaton: Lately will be on view at CASS Contemporary from November 15, 2025, through February 15, 2026.
