Yesterday, SAN attended the opening of Sowat and Lek new project in Paris “Mausolee”.
On August 12, 2010, Lek and Sowat found an abandoned supermarket in the north of Paris. For a year, in the greatest of secrets they invited forty French graffiti artists to collaborate, from the first to the last generation of the graffiti movement.
For the event and safety reasons, the Mausoleum was partially rebuilt in an abandoned appartment, using found objects from the main 430,000 sq. ft monument and featured many murals and installations from Sowat, Lek or Philippe Baudelocque.
A superb 7 minutes long video by swat was also unveiled during the opening, retracing the evolution of the Mausoleum over the months.
If you wanna see more from “Mausolee”, a brand new book is now available here
