We just received a few images from this new mural by Bergen-based architect and street artist NIMI, recently finished in Stavanger in Norway as part of Nuart’s ‘Art City’ program.

Titled ‘Sofia and the Mountain’, the mural depicts NIMI’s daughter, Sofia, carrying on her back one of Norway’s most famous landmarks – the always breathtaking Preikestolen rock (Preacher’s pulpit).
According to the artist, the piece i intended as a comment on the world in which his children are growing up: “It stands for the pride I have in my children. That they should be seen and heard: a force for good and a benefit to the society and land that they are a part of and that is part of them.”

A great way to warm up for this year’s festival that will kick off next week on September 8th. Stay tuned!
