While you discovered a first piece in Wuhan a few days ago (covered), Faith47 has now arrived in Shanghai where she just completed this amazing series of murals entitled “The Taming Of The Beasts”.
The South African painter decided to bring the spirits of African Rhinos to Asia, to help settling their restless spirits.
One of these spirits is now part of the WOW project which according to their website will be coming to a town near your soon…

In 2011 there were 448 rhinos illegally killed for their horns in South Africa.
The current spike in demand of South African Rhino horn is driven primarily by medicinal demand from Asian countries mainly Vietnam and China, Malaysia, India and South Korea.
Their horns are used presumably to treat fever, cancer and diabetes and as a detoxification tonic after over-indulgence.
The reported extinction of the West African Black Rhino, a sub-species of the Southern African Black Rhino happened on 10 November 2011.

Check back with us soon for more by Faith47…

More pictures after the jump…
