“Open To The Public” is Alex Chinneck latest surreal installation which just opened its door in Kent, United Kingdom.

His newest work shows a giant zip opening the walls of a 1960’s building. The new installation pays homage to the building’s history of leather and textile factory. The piece took two months to be completed.

“There is a history of textile that fed into the language of the zip,”

“The building presented a good opportunity because facing demolition, it gave us the sculptural freedom to open it up to the elements.”

If you are in the area, the installation can be found at Brundett House, Tannery Lane
Ashford, Kent TN23 1PN.
