Visual artist INO from Greece visited Ibiza to participate in the 8th edition of BLOOP Festival. A long- term project that aims to change the urban landscapes of the entire island. Reaching nearly 30 murals and installations, this year the festival had the theme “hope”.
By painting the image of a young girl praying for money, INO’s artwork is criticizing the fact that in modern societies, happiness is connected with material goods. Advertising targets youth, the most vulnerable target group among all of us. Big companies with enormous marketing budgets, can freely handle that money and put it anywhere they want without any responsibilities.
The ironic mural title “HOPELESS”, makes you wonder if there is any chance for the things to improve in the future.
