Renowned artist Carlito Dalceggio unveils 15m x 4m multimedia mural ‘Unseen Untouched Unknown’ with multifaceted projection mapping artist Oliver Allaux. The warmly colourful mural depicts elements from various creation myths and symbols (First Nations America, Africa, Ancient Greece…), adorning the façade of Club Chinois Ibiza in Marina Botafoch, and so is on public view – for clubbers, locals, tourists alike.
Multiple layers of colour, words, and harmonising elements are video-mapped onto the painting. Chinois’ sincere wish, alongside art curators SmithVaitiare, is that this mural inspires both the people of Ibiza, and visitors alike. As a piece of public art, it brings both beauty and a strong message of hope and peace. Ibiza is a beacon to the world and will emit Carlito’s beautiful message, far and wide around the planet.
‘Our sincere wish is that this incredible work of art serves to inspire both the people of Ibiza, and visitors alike. As a piece of public art, it brings both beauty and a strong message of hope and Peace. Ibiza is a beacon to the world and will emit Carlito’s beautiful message, and the intention of Club Chinois, far and wide around the planet.’ Vaitiare Gout Fila and Elizabeth Smith of SmithVaitiare Art Curators and Consultants.
‘Carlito embodies all that we believe in and all that the islandrepresents –love, beauty, transformation and joy. To be able to share his work with the community of Ibiza is the greatest honour imaginable,’says Sofija Mehta, Club Chinois founder and champion of the arts, whowith the help of art curators SmithVaitiare commissioned the piece from Carlito. The choice of Carlito, Quebec, Canada-born of Italian familywas a natural one. Carlito, who describes himself as a nomad, travels the world spending time with far flung indigenous cultures such as Native American, Masai, Mexican …, creating work inspired by their influences. Carlito drew inspiration too from Ibiza’s colours, sunsets, wildlife, and architecture.
The spirit of my work is really primitive. I paint with ancient gestures and Oliver brings the future with technology -and this I believe is the way to find harmony on the planet, where both can become one’ –Carlito Dalceggio, artist.
