Our friend Roamcouch will be opening his first solo show at UTBNYC located in Brooklyn, New York. The Japanese stencil master will be presenting a new body of work for this show entitled “A Beautiful Life”.
“A Beautiful Life” is that I expressed my feeling of gratitude to people who are interested in my works of art. I don’t want to create pieces of art relating to complicated themes. Due to my illness, I lost almost everything and was once disappointed with my life. Fortunately, art gave me an opportunity to restart my life. In other words, I have been kept alive from my art lovers. Hence, I want to please and gratify them by creating attractive artworks. That’s why I painted. In addition, I am proud of being Japanese and I believe that there is something special which only Japanese artists are able to create. Although street art is originally a part of foreign cultures, I think that I can see it from a distinct perspective. As I have been thinking the above belief as a really significant factor of creating pieces of art, I would like to know if my works of art based on the belief are appreciated on an international level. That’s the reason why I chose New York as the venue for the show. Finally, I would like to thank all the people who have been supporting my show especially staffers working at UTBNYC and my art lovers. –Roamcouch
